【Learn Chinese】How to Write an E-Mail in Chinese
 
Nowadays people mainly use WeChat or other messengers to communicate. But in the work place you probably still have to write an e-mail sometimes.
E-Mail in Chinese is 电邮 (diàn yóu) and literally means “electric post”. It is a short version of 电子邮件 (diàn zǐ yóu jiàn).
Here are some helpful words and phrases for using e-mails:
 
E-mail address: 电子邮件地址 (diànzǐ yóujiàn dìzhǐ)
Send: 发送 (fāsòng)
I'll send you an e-mail tomorrow afternoon: 明天下午我会给你发电子邮件 (míngtiān xiàwǔ wǒ huìgěinǐ fā diànziyóujiàn)
Forwarding: 转发 (zhuǎnfā)
Draft: 草稿 (cáogǎo)
Spam mail: 垃圾邮件 (lājī yóujiàn)
Attachment: 附件 (fùjiàn)
Inbox: 收件箱 (shōujiànxiāng)
Outbox: 发件箱 (fājiànxiāng)
Signature block: 签名块 (qiānmíngkuài)
Emoticon: 表情符号 (biǎoqíng fúhào)
Write e-mail: 写电邮 (xiě diànyóu)
Flag e-mail: 标记一封电邮 (biāojì yìfēng diànyóu)
Mark as unread: 标为已读 (biāowéi yǐdú)
Read e-mail: 看电子邮件 (kàn diànzǐyóujiàn)
Reply to e-mail: 回复电邮 (huífù diànyóu)
Attach a picture to an e-mail: 给电邮附上一张图片 (gěi diànyóu fùshang yì zhāng túpiàn)
